Then Paul left the synagogue and went next door to the house of Titius Justus, a worshiper of God. Crispus, the synagogue ruler, and his entire household believed in the Lord; and many of the Corinthians who heard him believed and were baptized.
Acts 18:7-8
It's tempting to want to pursue experiences where large crowds are showing up, thinking the large crowd somehow validates the experience. However, the only thriving aspects of community life are those where Jesus is speaking and people are listening to His Words, rather than evaluating based on size.
Jesus often spoke to smaller groups -- in homes, over dinner, on boats, etc. He does the same in the church today. At Church on the Hill we call these opportunities to gather around Jesus Connect Groups.
Connect Groups are more adequate for certain Bible study/training, prayer, service and personal relationships, but only as they are centered around Jesus and His Word. Rather than centering around our own stories and discussions, each Connect Group foundationally looks to Jesus and His Word for all that pertains to life.
